Freddie Joe "Fred" Ward (December 30, 1942 – May 8, 2022) was an American actor. He began his career in 1979, opposite Clint Eastwood, in Escape from Alcatraz. He became known for his starring role in films such as Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Tremors, Henry and June, Short Cuts, The Right Stuff and Exit Speed. Ward has also acted in several European films.
