Greetings to you all. This is my task 3 in Steemit having completed achievement 2 which was on basic security in steemit and also on the importance of those steemit keys. This is Achievement 3 which is on piagiarism. What is piagiarism? Types and how can we avoid piagiarism, why is piagiarism not condoned in Steemit social media platform. This task will help me and others see how and why we should avoid Creating piagiarised contents on Steemit..

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM ?

Plagiarism as we all know means taking what does not belong to us and claiming it. In general, piagiarism is a very serious crime. Piagiarism to a layman means copying and pasting. Piagiarism is the act of copying or framing someone's work and using it to work or create content especially when given an essay, term paper or contents in steem without acknowledging the original author. THis is a violation and is a problem for writing piagiarised contents in the writing society.

Types of Plagiarism

• Complete Plagiarism

• Accidental Plagiarism

• Source based plagiarism

• Direct plagiarism

Out of all these types of piagiarism mentioned here, it's only 4 that I'll discuss.

Complete Plagiarism

In this type of plagiarism, an author copies the original work of another author with almost nothing changing and still does not give credit to the original author i.e sourcing and referencing

Accidental plagiarism

In accidental piagiarism, plagiarism of ideas, phrases or words is done unintentionally and most of the time it is not an intentional or purposeful plagiarism. Since it is not intentional it is termed Accidental

Source-based plagiarism

Plagiarism also occurs when someone uses a secondary source of data in his write-up, but only cites the primary source of information. The consequences of this type of plagiarism can be very serious especially when it comes to medical ideas and writing.

Direct plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is the word-for-word copying of the original work and pasting without contention or permission and without quotation marks to ensure that the work has been copied.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM in steemit

• Trying to be original because originality is highly encourage in steemit
• Avoid copying people's work, pictures, videos and pasting in steemit social platform without properly sourcing.

Why is piagiarism a serious issue in steemit?

Piagiarism is not condoned in steemit social media platform because piagiarism is a serious crime and in such a platform where people share ideas, ideas should be original or properly sourced.
