WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism is the act or practice of making use of someone else's work and intellect without proper permission from the original owner or properly citation of the owner of the write up or content. Plagiarism is a very heavy offense and is due punishable according to law. We have various types of plagiarism which I'll mention and explain below.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

Direct Plagiarism :This is an act of copying and pasting someone else's work verbatim without any rephraser or citation to the original owner.

Self-Plagiarism: This is an act of publishing your edited and previously published work and submitting it as your new work without proper acknowledgment or citation.

Mosaic Plagiarism:This is an act of putting various sources from different authors together without proper acknowledgement or citation to create a new work.

Let's move to the advantage and disadvantages of plagiarism, with what we have above we can see that plagiarism does more harm than Good.

ADVANTAGES OF PLAGIARISM

The only advantage of plagiarism is that it will save your time and effort and make your work fast but its a very bad idea because the consequences far outweigh than the benefits so it's advice to flee from plagiarism.

DISADVANTAGES OF PLAGIARISM

Academic Consequences: In the academic settings plagiarism can lead to serious academic penalties, such as expulsion, cancellation of write up , failing of courses and order punishment depending on the disciplinary board of the school.

Legal Issues: In the constitution of every country there's always a legal action taken on plagiarism and according to law it's called copyright infringement and its attracts heavy sanctions and punishment according to the law.

Damage to Reputation: Plagiarism
can go as far as tarnishing someone's reputation in society, career and profession.

Erosion of Trust: Plagiarism reduce credibility and trust and impact on professional communities .

Educational Missed Opportunities:
In case of getting roles, scholarship student might be as to write a proposal and if there's any act of plagiarism in it the student might get disqualified.

CONCLUSION


Is very important you avoid plagiarism in anything you do so as bot to face a bad consequence so how do you avoid plagiarism?it's important to properly cite sources, use quotation marks in your work for direct quotes.
