Hello, Steemians from all over the world. Greetings to you all. I trust you all feel blessed and super fantastic.

It's been a great experience of learning and relearning on this platform. Since I joined steemit, I've been able to improve on my writing skills and I really appreciate that.
Today, I want to go ahead and complete my achievement 3, as I believe this will help me to learn more about plagiarism.
So please read on.

INTRODUCTION

Plagiarism is one sin committed in the world of literature. Some people do it intentionally while others do it unintentionally because of their ignorance. Whatever be the case plagiarism is bad and ignorance is not an excuse.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is an act of copying or claiming another's person's work as though it was your own intentionally or unintentionally.
“Plagiarism is the representation of another person's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work”
From the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary.

Plagiarism occurs in several ways. So let's look at the types of plagiarism people practice.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are currently 5 types of plagiarism and they include;

Global Plagiarism:
This is the type of plagiarism in which one copies a whole article or an entire text of someone else's work as his/ her own.
That means everything is copied.

Verbatim Plagiarism; This one has to do with directly copying someone's words as yours.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism; This is when you rephrase someone else's idea, and text to present them as yours.

Patchwork Plagiarism; This is when you get text from different sources and stitch them together to form yours.

Self Plagiarism: This is when you copy yourself by getting text from your previous publication without citing it.

Here on steemit, plagiarism is highly discouraged and must be avoided.
If you copy someone's work directly, you must always add a quotation mark to show it's copied and also add the source from where it is obtained.

This same thing goes with Images, all images from wherever the site it is gotten must be cited. And on steemit we are encouraged to use only images from free websites such as;
