Food hygiene
It is very important that we take care of the hygiene of the food that we eat, because if, on the contrary, we do not do so this can lead to multiple diseases.
food hygiene has to start from the production of these, since generally almost all foods have a long process from their origin, to elaborate them (if it is something prepared) until they are distributed, a series of procedures is needed to maintain hygiene throughout the process.
Food contamination can be direct or indirect
Direct way when there is incorrect handling of the food either by a sick person or who does not have enough hygiene or also if it comes from an animal that is sick.
Indirect way is one that can be contaminated by garbage, dirty water or because it was mixed with other contaminated food.
There are some risk factors that can lead to food contamination:
- Use non-potable water when cleaning or cooking food
- Not having good hygiene and handling food
- Not cooking food correctly at the correct temperature
- Poor preservation of hot or cold food as appropriate
- Mixing food with the possibility of cross contamination
- Reheating food incorrectly
- Poor preservation of food for days
- Poor hygiene of the instruments with which you cook
- Have food discovered and animals can pass through them
- We should not mix cooked food with raw food
Each food has a care, when choosing meats they must have a red color and not dark because this may mean that it is old, it must be suitable for consumption human with all the rules of handling, even the handling of the fish must be careful, the vegetables and fruits must be washed with plenty of clean water to clean the remains of earth , the eggs ideally would be to wash the shell with water, the milk preferably undergoes the pasteurization process.
It is also important to know that food must be kept in the fridge according to the required temperatures of each one of them, I will show you how each one should go:

Food contamination can lead to foodborne illness (FDD) , and be a risk factor for others.
Some of the diseases that can be caused by poor food handling are Salmonellosis, Gastroenteritis, diarrhea caused by different microorganisms, hepatitis A, amoebiasis, among others.
Following all the necessary care and procedures, we can maintain good health and take care of ourselves and our family members when cooking.
