What is Plagiarism?
Every time the word plagiarism is spoken of, what accompanies it is theft of content which simply represents an unethical act. This is simply lifting a piece of data from another author's content or article without giving due credits to the original author by either quoting the author or giving the source of its information. This is an act that is considered not only offensive but furthermore limits one from contributing his or her idea.
When we fail to leave traces or link to the source of information used in our article, we become faulters to this very act.

WAYS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM IN STEEMIT

• Create your IDEAS using your words
  This is a good approach to creating original content. When you use your own words you become capable of adding enough details to your concept because you are the developer.

• Paraphrasing
  This is also another way of staying out of plagiarism. We are all familiar with this idea that most of the content we make up are not entirely ours to lay claim of originality. Therefore, it's expedient that we paraphrase the original content we use online, therefore we should be able to read and understand what we want to use and translate in our own words. This is to say paraphrasing involves; Reading, Understanding, Summarizing in our own words (Without necessarily changing the meaning).

• Use of Quotations
  There are situations where we will want to use an author's words verbatim, it's required that we put quotation marks or better still use the markdown >.

• Citing of Source
  When ever an idea,video, image is not created by you; do due diligence to cite the source.

• The Use of Plagiarism Tool Checker
  The use of tools like plagiarism checker and also Grammarly will go a long way to curb or rid your work of plagiarism.
