Achievement 6 Task by @dortim: Understanding Curation and Community

Hello, steemit! it's @dortim here again and I am so glad to be doing my Achievement post 6, which happens to be the concluding part of my Achievement post.

So on this Achievement post, I will be taking us through voting, curation and communities on steemit. Basically, this process can be likened to how people like and react to content in other social media accounts. However, here on steemit you get rewarded for it.

Voting and Curation on Steemit
There are two known users on steemit. We have the Authors and the Curators. The Authors are those who create contents while the Curators are those who vote (either upvotes or downvotes) for Authors contents.

This is what happens, an Authors publishes a content, we show the value of that content by upvoting it. Clicking on the green upvote button as shown in the image.

Furthermore, there are rewards for both the curators and the authors. This is how the reward is been distributed.

-After a Curator must have upvoted a post 65% goes to both the Author and Curator. However, 50% goes to the Author and 50% also goes to the Curator. While Curators receive their reward as steem power, authors receives theirs as steem dollar.

Here is how the remaining 35% is being shared. 15% are given as steem power for account, 10% to pay witnesses to power the blockchain and 10% for steemDAO.
Curators are actually advised to curate content after 5minutes of posting so that they can get the 100% reward.

Vote a Witness
The SteemDB is used to vote for witnesses, this witnesses create a blockchain every 63 seconds to keep the ecosystem running. I will vote @justyy for all the great work being done to keep the system and this platform running.

Joining a Community
Communities are a way of bringing like minds together for social interaction and to build together.
I am already a member of the @heartchurch and I really love what is being done there.
I am also a member of @steemnursery and steemkidss. I am looking forward to other great things I get to learn from this platform.
