Good day my fellow steemians, my greetings to everyone. Once again, I'm very happy to be here with you guys. I was very happy having completed my Achievement1 task and I'm really looking forward to completing the others. My Achievement2 is about basic security and functions.

Security can be defined as the condition of not being threatened physically, emotionally, or financially.
Steemit account security is the way to protect ones account from illegal entry by others. It is a way of preventing fraudsters from our account.

Have you retrieve all your steemit keys?

Yes, I have retrieved all my steemit keys as a pdf file on my "Microsoft word". I have also kept it safe by printing it out and keeping it in my personal file. I also stored it ony Google drive.

Do you know the functions of all the keys?

Yes, I know all the functions to each keys. They are:

Posting key

This key is used to login to our steemit account when we are not logged in.

It is used in combination with our username. It also helps us to perform special functions like commenting, posting and voting. I usually make sure I logout whenever I'm done for the day, to prevent someone from accessing my account in case my phone gets stolen or misplaced.

Private active key

This key gives me access to my wallet. It helps me to make any transactions on my steemit wallet. With the help of this key, I can transfer my steem whenever I want. I can also power up my steem into steem power.

Master password

This is the leader of all the keys, it is the master key. It can be used to generate new keys when the former were misplaced. I keep this key very safe because with the key alone, all other keys can be easily changed.

Private memo key

This key is used to send private messages. I use it to encrypt and decrypt messages.

How to make transfer from your steemit wallet to another

To make transfer, I log into my steemit wallet with my active key and I click on a small arrow.

Then I click on transfer.

It will then move to another page where I will input the username of whom I'm transferring to. I will also input the amount of steem I'm transferring.

I will be directed to a page where I will confirm my transaction by pressing the "OK" button, and my transaction is complete

How to power up my steem

To power up my steem, I will begin by using the same process as making transfer. (I login to my wallet, click the small arrow) then I will click on power up.

After that, I will be reffered to a page where I will input the amount of steem I want to power up. Then I will click the power up button.

Once again, I will be asked to confirm the process with an OK button. Then I have successfully powered up my steem.
