Achievement 2- BASIC STEEMIT SECURITY by dspablo

Hello people, my name is @dspablo, it is wonderful doing my second achievement which is all about the security part of the platform steemit, in this context I will be writing on different security measures about the steemit platform.

Question 1

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes of course, All my steemit key once it was downloaded during account creation was being saved in 2 ways, firstly I personally wrote it out carefully and confirm and keep it in a safe place then secondly made use of my hard drive(usb) to save it.

Question 2

Do you know the functions and restrictions of each key

Yes before I started using this platform I was educated on what the function and restrictions of each keys is all about

• Master key
  The key called master keys
  Is the type of key that I made use in downloading of all my steemit key, it is also used in completing transaction if the private or owner key is not used. It is a key use to het all the keys in the steemit platform.

• Private posting key
  The posting key is the type of key that is being used in posting as the name implies, but not only that it is a key that is being used to do social things which may include voting of post, login to steemit wallet, commenting on post etc

• Owner key
  The owner key is sometime use to complete transaction, it is also use in changing or reseting the owner of steemit leys should the account owner feel insecure he or she will use this key to change the keys.

• Private active key
  This is the type of key, that is being used financialy it is used when use want to complete transaction in steemit transaction such as transfering of steem, powering up and down

• Memo key
  It is the purpose key, it is here that t you will give reason for performing transaction though can be omitted but no advisable.

Question 3

How do you plan to keep your master password?

My master key just as my steemit mey is being saved in 2 ways, firstly I personally wrote it out carefully and confirm and keep it in a safe place then secondly made use of my hard drive(usb) to save it.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes, I know how to do this and will be using steps to explain

• Step 1
  First thing is to access your steemwallet with the help of posting key snd username

• Step 2
  After loggin you will see an arrow close to steem figure which you have to click on it and it will show us other options from there,I clock transfer

• Step 3
  Here, after the second step fill in the display form with beneficiary username and required amount to transfer then memo

• Step 4
  Last step, is for you to put private active key.

Do you know how to power up your steem

Yes i do

• Step 1
  First thing is to access your steemwallet with the help of posting key snd username
  

• Step 2
  After loggin you will see an arrow close to steem figure which you have to click on it and it will show us other options from there,I click powerup
  

• Step 3
  Here, after the second step fill in the display form with required steem to power up

• Step 4
  Last step, is for you to put private active key.
