Definition of Plagiarism??

Plagiarism can be simply defined as the act of copying, duplicating, and replicating someone's else media contents or work which may be write ups, stories, articles, research etc and been compensated without the consent of the original owner or author.

Plagiarism still has to do with the deliberate act of claiming someone's content as yours without appropriate referencing or acknowledgement of the owner or sourced it was gotten from.
Examples are much traceable when a researcher goes online and makes a copy of someone else's contents and then paste it in his or her own work without making proper referencing or acknowledgement.

Is Plagiarism Professional Or Unprofessional?

Plagiarism is very much an unprofessional sequel or practice to the fact that

  • It claims ownership and also utilized the exact words, ideas, knowledge and work structure as if it were yours without any form of reference or acknowledgement.

Dangers And Effects Of Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism is a very big crime or offence and perpetrators are open to being punished for it.

  • Plagiarism disadvantages are enormous and at such several works are rejected and underated.

  • Plagiarism reduces a ones reputation and quality.

Prevention Measures To Plagiarism

  • Stop Procrastination:
    Procrastination is simply the act of delaying in carrying out an action or a deliberate postponement of an event for a later purpose on a repeated occasion without due reasons.
    Procrastination can lead to continuous shifting of activities until the person involve becomes too apathetic or lazy then the next option is just to copy and replicate another similar work.

  • Avoid Laziness:
    Laziness is a disease and lazy people are known for solving problems in the shortest time possible. When time is very much against them, then they tend to look for means to solve their problems in the fastest and easiest way, which will eventually lead them to just copying and pasting a content.

The truth be said; the end product of laziness in this context is PLAGIARISM.

  • Boldness :
    It only takes someone who is bold enough not to look down on their content, and even though he or she decides to sought for others idea, it will be definitely to fortress or add more meaning to their work and by so doing he or she reduces the rate at which someone else's content is sourced by avoiding plagiarism.

  • Referencing
    It is of outmost importance that a writer makes reference of any material cited or sourced in his write up or work and if few or all the contents are gotten from it. The source should contain, name and date.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

  • Explicit Plagiarism
    This is a deliberate act of duplicating and republishing the entire work of another author without making changes at all to the words and also without the use of quotation marks for citations.

  • Unintentional Plagiarism
    Unintentional plagiarism is an error made by a person to showcase the source from which he got his content. It is an oversight from the writer who unknowingly or forgetfully failed to indicate the source his materials were gotten.
