Achievement2 @elxavier. Task: Basic Security on Steemit

in hive-172186 •  4 years ago

Good day fellow Steemit users and the Steemit team. It is a pleasure to be on this platform. I now know the keys and their uses.

There are 4 keys you need to know about and also keeping them safe is one of the things you need to know about these keys. The keys are as follows:

The master password
The owner key
The active key
The posting key
The memo key
The master password is the key you get upon signing up for Steemit. It is used to generate all other keys which we use for different purposes which I will tell you as we go on.

The posting key allows you to post, comment, edit, follow, or mute other accounts. You also login with your posting key.

The active key is used in transferring funds, power up/down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

The owner key is the most powerful i.e it is used to change any key including the owner key.

The memo key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds.

I stored my master password on a flash drive and also on notes where I can easily retrieve them f I ever need them.

You transfer your STEEM tokens to another steem user account by using your active key. You also use the active key to power up your STEEM.

Hello @elxavier, you have done great in taking the steps to complete your achievement 2, however, in the task Here it is given that you should have basic understanding on how to use your steem wallet.

I will like you edit the post and answer the question 4 & 5:

  • Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

  • Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

You are welcome to do that with image samples. Thanks for your understanding.

I look forward to your correction.
