What Is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism in my own understanding is the act of stealing someone's idea or work, such as pictures, logos, videos and texts without the consent of the person and making it your own without giving credits to the person.

according to Cambridge Online Dictionary plagiarism means “the process or practice of using another person's ideas or work and pretending that it is your own”

-The Types Of Plagiarism

  1. Direct Plagiarism
this type of Plagiarism is the word-for-word i.e if the owner of the text for example writes “I think Plagiarism has a very bad effect on our society”you copy exactly what the person wrote without changing any word on the original text, that is said to be Direct Plagiarism.

  2. Self Plagiarism
this type of Plagiarism is the process whereby a person mixes his/her previous works with the present one. It's just like doing the same thing “which is absolutely not acceptable” all over again at different places.

  3. Mosaic Plagiarism
it is the type of Plagiarism whereby you borrow a text or a phrase from a source without using the quotation mark to indicate that the text or phrase is not yours.

  4. Accidental Plagiarism
accidental plagiarism occurs when you neglects to cite the source you got the text, image or video from, misquote their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source by using similar words or sentence.

How To Avoid Plagiarism

  1. make sure you've read and understand everything about Plagiarism.
  2. use quotes and paraphrase properly.
  3. always cite the sources you got your materials from.
  4. do not forget to give credits.
  5. you can use the Plagiarism checker before you submit your work.

CONCLUSION
Plagiarism will never add any value to you rather it will make you less creative, you can't do things on your own, you wait for somebody to do it so that you can copy and you don't give credit which makes it very bad.
