Plagiarism seems to be a modern crime, and the rate of Plagiarism is seriously increasing. The act of copping someone else work, video picture is becoming something else.

Plagiarism is the act of taking someone else idea, work or word, as if it's your own without the consent of the rightful owner or without
acknowledging the source of information

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

Direct Plagiarism. Direct plagiarism is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else's work, without acknowledge the quotation marks.

Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or finds synonyms for the author's language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original

Self plagrism is when one submits his/her own old work, or mixed a part of a previous work without the authority from the professors involved.

Complete plagiarism is the most severe form of plagiarism where a researcher takes a manuscript or study that someone else created, and submits it under his or her name. It is tantamount to intellectual theft and stealing.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

  • Keep track of the source of the sources u consult in your research
    Credit the original author in an in-text citation and reference list.

  • Use a plagiarism checker before you submit.
