Plagiarism is the act of;
Stealing and passing off some one’s ideas and words as one’s own
Using some one’s production without creating the source and
To present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
source
Can words and ideas be stolen ?

’According to U.S. law, the answer is yes. The expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions. Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file).’>source
Things which may be conceded as plagiarism include;
’’turning in someone else's work as your own
copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not’’

In most cases, plagiarism can be avoided by citing the source.
Videos ,music and pictures when copied, must be cited and cited well.

Students who plagiarize or otherwise engage in academic dishonesty face serious consequences. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to, failure on an assignment, grade reduction or course failure, suspension, and possibly dismissal.

Hello @husein97

I wish to make a few suggestions

  • To properly cite someone's piece use, this format :
>'According to U.S. law, the answer is yes.
The expression of original ideas is considered
intellectual property and is protected by copyright
laws, just like original inventions.
Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright
protection as long as they are recorded in some way such as a book or a computer file'
>[source](link) or Author

  • Include a graphical representation to improve the quality of your post. Preferably, one related to your content and dont forget to cite the source

  • I believe you can share more of your thought on plagiarism with us other than relying solely on others opinions

Thanks for your attention.
Best regards,
@cherub27
