Plagiarism in simple terms can be described as taking someone else's idea or work as yours. Can also be described in my own terms as as basking the glory of another. As known in many climes, the act of plagiarism is considered a crime , somewhat synonymous to intellectual theft.
One of the pitfalls of plagiarism is that the deserving credit of the work doesn't go to original person did the work, another terrible effect of this is that plagiarising someone's work definitely hinders your ability to critical thinking in order to solve crucial problems, hence encouraging laziness."This learning and development skillset could stand you in good stead for later life so from all perspectives, plagiarism is something which should be avoided at all costs"source
There are some dire consequences other than the one mentioned above , a plagiarised work can be fined and legal actions can plagiarist(the person who commits the crime of plagiarism),this plagiarism should be shunned.
Plagiarism as we know it can come in many forms:

1. Direct plagiarism:"Most commonly, the crime of plagiarism involves adopting parts from the writing of another writer without proper mention of the source".source
   This is one of the most greivious types of plagiarism.
2. Mosaic plagiarism:"There is another type of plagiarism which is unintentional. In this case, the plagiarist may have mentioned the source of the content he has referred to. But, if he/she does not acknowledge the quoted part or put them under the quotation marks correctly, then the writer commits the crime of plagiarism. "Source, whether it was intentional or not as it stands now plagiarism is a serious crime and thus we should be extremely careful to ensure we don't fault.
   Others include self plagiarism, accidental plagiarism ,etc.
   One key to avoid plagiarism is to give enough time for your research work, make sure thiangs aren't rushed as to ensure that you strictly cite your sources and give credit to whom it is due.
   I have read and understood the steemit etiquette on steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.
