First of all what is etiquette?. Etiquette is the act of behavior and custom of a particular social group.
Who is a content written?. A content writer is one who writes for the interest of people, the writes Journals , stories as well as articles. Now what is content etiquette? . Content etiquette are those rules and guidelines a content writer should obey. Their customs and regulations being adhered by the content writer. From here I would like to bring it down to some things a content writer should avoid.

plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of copying/ mimicking someone’s written content without proper reference to the original owner. For instance, copying an article from google or Wikipedia which is a research by some persons or group of people for your own written without laying proper references to the real source .These is a very common character found in most content writers, in order to build and keep a good reputation and also falling in line with “Content etiquette” we writers should try every possible best to avoid plagiarism and also to fight against it. There are different forms in which writers commit plagiarism
And they are;

  • complete plagiarism.
  • source-based plagiarism.
  • Direct plagiarism.
  • Self or auto plagiarism

Complete plagiarism

This is the worst form of plagiarism, this is the process whereby a researcher takes a study or manuscript made by another person, submitting it in his/her own name.

source -based plagiarism

This is a process whereby a researcher uses an invalid source or a link that doesn’t exist.

direct plagiarism

This is a process whereby an author copies a content of another author word to word without the addition of a quotation mark, thus, passing the information as his/her own.

self or auto plagiarism

This in other words is called duplication, whereby the author reuses a significant phrase in his/her previously publish article without attribution to it.

Now how can we writers avoid plagiarism.
Here are the following ways in which we can avoid plagiarism.

  • citation of sources; writers should do well to always cite sources when copied from.
  • self use of intellectual ability; writers should be capable of generating ideas intellectually and believe it to be a better idea. After all we are all here to learn.
  • use of quotation when paraphrasing; writers should always remember to use quotations when remaking a statement already made by another author.
