Hi great Steemians, it's good to write again after I completed my achievement 2. This achievement 3 talks about content etiquette and plagiarism. I hope you'll find my work interesting.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be termed as an act of stealing someone's work, suggestions or fact and taking it to be yours.
Due to the laziness of students these days, plagiarism has eaten deep into them in the sense that majority of students have refused to read their books but rather has embraced plagiarism to the core thereby endangering their future.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM :
Paraphrasing means to reconstruct a text or speech in your words while the meaning remains unchanged.
In this type of plagiarism, the copied work is not missed in with new ideas but little changes will be made. It is the most common type of plagiarism.
SELF PLAGIARISM :
This types of plagiarism takes place when you copy your own writing whether knowingly or unknowingly. Humans may think self plagiarism is not dangerous because you are not copying from somebody just yourself but it is so harmful just the way others are.
COMPLETE PLAGIARISM :
This kind of plagiarism occurs when one tries to entirely submit someone else's work and presents it to be his own without him contributing any issue to the work. For instance, when an author copies the work of another author just to make money not knowing that the information he/she is trying to give out is no longer meaningful because he is already feeding the society with an existing information which is not proper.
ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM :
Here, an author copies someone else's work without knowing that he/she has done so maybe the person forgot or neglected that. Furthermore, if it happens by mistake or not just bear it in my that plagiarism has taken place and will be taken into consideration if one is found guilty.
DIRECT PLAGIARISM :
This type of plagiarism occurs when an author steals the work of various authors word for word and claims to be the owner of it. It is also called copy paste plagiarism.
CITATION
Citation is the process of referencing a particular idea or work to show that the work or idea does not belong to you but was gotten from particular source. To understand this clearly the example below will clarify us better. Let's check it out.
Shareholders of social media platforms made billions of dollars from user-generated content. The content creators? They made nothing.
Steem flips the model and returns the value to the people who contribute the most. Users become platform stakeholders, maintaining control over their data, and earning cryptocurrency rewards for each contribution they make.
