What is fake account:

Any account that does not contain true information such as his/her name, location/ any other information may considered to be as fake account.

pretending to be someone else is also a fake identity i.e. considered as fake account!

What is fake account creation:

Fake account creation is the automated creation of a large number of user accounts, that are not associated with a real person or are created with a real person’s details without their knowing consent.These illegitimate accounts do not belong to a genuine user, but are used to carry out malicious, often criminal, activity, such as: financial fraud, abuse of special offers and discounts, spam and the spreading of fake news.

Why do fake account exist:

Fake accounts serve very different purposes: they are used to stirrup political quarrels, spread fake news, create division and distrust. They can promote disinformation about brands to mislead customers. They can promote disinformation about famous people.

How do fake account affect:

Most of us are self-assured enough to believe that the number of "likes" on the post doesn't influence our behavior. But it does, and the reason for that is the phenomenon called social proof.

Social proof implies that we use other people to determine what is correct. We believe a product is good when it's been approved by other people. We believe the cause is valid when other people behave like it is. This isn't some kind of illogical behavior: in most cases now and throughout the evolution, the best way to judge an appropriate behavior has been by looking at how others behave. However, it's a mental shortcut that allows room for error.

Report fake profile:

If you feel that a profile may be fake or that it is inappropriate, you can report it. A profile may be fake if it appears empty or if it contains profanity, fake names, or impersonates public figures.

Report a profile on desktop:

1.Click the more icon on the member's profile.

2.Click report or block .

3.Select Report content on profile in the What do you want to do? pop-up window.

4.Select Profile information in the What content on this profile are you reporting? pop-up window.

5.Select Suspicious or fake in the Why are you reporting the profile information on this profile? pop-up window.

6.Select Fake account in the How is this suspicious, spam, or fake? pop-up window.

7.Click Submit to proceed or Back to review your options.

I understand that:

This is a bad thing because it can cause a lot of harm to people. We should all give it up and stay away from it.
