My achievement 3 will be on plagiarism.
Plagiarism is the practice of taking credit for someone else's words or ideas.
Types of Plagiarism
Direct plagiarism:
It is the act of copying another person's work word for word.Paraphrased Plagiarism:
It involves making a few changes to someone else’s work, then passing it off as your own.Mosaic Plagiarism:
It is the combination of direct and paraphrased plagiarism. It involves putting various words into your work.Accidental Plagiarism:
This commonly happens when citations are missing and sources are cited incorrectly.Self Plagiarism:
This is case whereby a writer makes use of his/her previous work and then publish it again as a new work.
Tips on Avoiding Plagiarism
Always do well to cite your sources.
Try as much as possible to be creative, be original.
Always crosscheck your work.
Reference post that are not yours and put them in quotations.
Make sure to use a Plagiarism checker always.
