So Far Not Farther, : My 1st Progress Report.

“If I tell you say e easy, na set up” is a popular line of a song by one of Nigeria's greatest musicians Tuface Idibia.
It simply translates, if I tell you it's easy, it's a lie because it's not.

Honestly it has not been easy. I first learned about #steemit from a comment on my post in Ecency. I quickly decided to check it out. I was a novice on Hive and still is. I quickly downloaded the steemit app and registered. Being a first timer without a guide, I posted my introduction post in the wrong community #beautyofcreativity. It took about two or three days before I was informed that I had posted in the wrong place, and was directed to #newcommers community.

It was when I joined the newcomers community that I saw the pinned posts on how to go about steem as a beginner. As I read through the guide, despair started holding me to ransom. In my mind I was asking myself, “Uko, who send you?”

Directives and tips from the various #greeters and other stakeholders have been helpful. However, when @goodybest informed me that it was going to take up to a month before my account is verified, but till then I have to stay active, join different groups, make posts and all of that, I almost gave up.

But so far since I joined (towards the end of August I think), I have been able to carry out some of the #achievement tasks up to achievement 4. I know, I should complete my #achievement tasks by now, but Rome wasn't built in a day. I have been busy with work. There are days I don't even check my phone throughout the day, and when I get home I just feel tired and sleep off.

I must confess, I have joined many communities here on steem but I haven't really been active in most of them. I have been more engaged in the #newcommers community mainly because of my achievement tasks and also upvoting newcomers. I think the only community I have tried posting in is #freewriters where I partook in a contest and was rewarded 1STEEM.

I tried to join a club, #club5050 I guess, but I couldn't go through with it. I haven't tried again. I guess I need more enlightenment on that.

I'm still learning how it works here, and I hope I have the time to really get familiar with everything and the blockchain. I read really good stuff here and many other amazing contents steemians put up here. I look forward to putting my own contents here too on a more regular level and making more friends and connecting with more people in mutually beneficial ways.

I want to say thank you to @goodybest for inviting me to join the WhatsApp steemit group. I would get to learn more from other people there.

I’m sure I haven’t really done much to write a lengthy report on. But I know my time on Steem would be worth it in the long run.

Thank you.

**Hi @livinword good effort you put here but I will like you to edit this post and add the below points:
Please, don't use these points as a template - templates are so boring 🥱 - we're interested in hearing about your experience so far. You could use some of the following ideas as prompts...

  • A summary of the communities you've joined, why you've joined them, which you like the most, and why.

  • The topics you've been writing about.

  • A list of key people you've interacted with. An introduction to the people who have had the biggest impact on your experience so far (NOT an opportunity to tag whales) and the unexpected relationships that you've experienced.

  • Your most successful post - Why do you think it was successful?

  • Other observations - What have you learned and discovered that you weren't expecting to?

  • Your plan and expectations for the next month on the platform (please don't mention growing your account!)

Success

Ow, 🙄. Ok 😀
