Hello and Good day everyone, hope our day is going perfectly fine. I am happy to be back again to write on my achievement 2 task. I have gone through the achievement 2 lesson on BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT and see the need to secure and guide as well as use of the security keys accesses provided after registration. I shall be discussing some point under the achievement 2 task, the question are discuss in details below
what is Security
Security simply refer to protection of ownership, I also see security in a general perspective as the act of safeguarding of either data, individual or accesses from an unknown intruder. Security can be seen in different perspective, it can be seen as setting restriction to assess to unknown user.
Security in general can be seen in different perspectives;
In perspective of Human beings: Security Agencies are set in place by the government to protect life and property . The security personnel involved are given Protective tools (e.g Amunation) to carry out there duties. Individual living in a well secured community live a fear free life.
When it comes to digital data access, Password which serves as a security are set by the user to restrict unknown intruder to have access to the data base as mentioned. The password set may either be Numbers, Alphabet, Alphanumeric, Pattern, Gesture among others.
It is therefore important to confidentially and safely keep the security set by user as the data are important.
I therefore see security as a very important point for data protection.
In the above light, I will be discussing security on steemit and will attempt to clearly answer the question inline with the Achievement 2 task.
Have you got your keys from steemit and how you save them?
Yes! I have gotten my keys from steemit. After following all the due registration process, the keys were sent to me in alphanumeric format so lengthy and very complicated.
At first, I thought I could master the keys without looking at them but it was so unique, lengthy and complicated that it may not be easily possible for me to do that, I therefore see reason to make sure I secure the keys like a treasure. I then save it on my Google Account and on my master excell assesses key saver.
Do you know each of the functions and restrictions of the keys?
Yes! I have study and know the function of each of the keys, thus include;
Posting keys
The posting key is basically use for logging in to your personal account that enable user to Share, comment as well as see other users activities on the
@steemit.com website. Other activities to be carried out therein within the personal account is not possible without first logging in. Posting key is just like the primary access point.
Active key
The active key basically covers assess to monetary perspective on steemit. It give user access to check their wallet, transfering of token, powering up or down of steem power.
Owners key
I see the owners key as a surgical key when other keys are been tempered with or compromised by an unknown source.The owners keys is use to reset all other keys should incase the other steemit keys are been pirated.
I see this key as a safeguard agent to other steemit keys to relinquish and redo other steemit keys for better account protection.
Memo key
This key is use to decrypt memo in perspective of private transfers.
How do you plan to keep your master key safe?
I intend to keep my master keys very safe and secured in different places.
First I saved it in my Google drive which is accessible at all times, I also wrote the keys in my diary. I aswell copied the files which contain the keys in my flash drive.
Do you know how to transfer your Steem tokens to another Steem user?
To transfer my steem token to another steem user:
Step1: firstly i log in to my steemit blog by inserting my username and password, it know took me to my blog landing page as shown below.
Step2: I further Click on the wallet button, it know took me to another page.on the top right site of that page I click on the drop down menu and select sign in option inputs my Username and posting key.
step 3: I now click on the steem drop down menu. And further select the transfer option.
Step 4: It took me to transfer to Account page where I was ask to inpute the name of the user and the amount, I did that and click on next.
It further took me to the last page which allow me to verify and confirm information imputed if it is correct. After that, I click on the OK button to complete the transfer request.
Do you know how to perform the power up process in Steem?
To perform the power up process is a kind of similar to that of steem transfer. From the steem drop down menu, I click on the power up button.
Then it took me to convert to steem power page where it requires me to input the amount I wish to up with.
The next is a confirm transfer to vesting page which enable to reconfirm the details inputed. I then click on the ok button.
It then took me to sign to complete transfer provision where I inputed my user name and active posting key to complete the transfer initiated.
Then lastly, it brings me back to my wallet where an additional provision was generated for steem power. The amount transfer to steem power adjusted from the steem balance to steem power balance.
