Good morning Steemians, is my pleasure to be here once again. Welcome to my Achievement 3 task that has to do with my understanding of Plagiarism and Content Etiquette.

PLAGIARISM

The word plagiarism comes from the Latin word ‘plagiarius,’ which means to kidnap. From the meaning of plagiarism,it suggests that when someone uses the work of another artist without properly citing the source or giving credit to orginal author, then it can be said to be plagiarism. Plagiarism is a punishable offense, and it is a form of intellectual theft.

Plagiarising any content or article from the website, has grave consequences. Plagiarism can affect someone’s career adversely.

However, when one reuse a previous work or parts of it without the professor's consent,it is called plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

Plagiarism is applicable for writing or website articles, but it is also applicable in stealing intellectual property like music, images, videos, and even choreography of a dance.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be of different types. They are:
Direct Plagiarism
Mosaic Plagiarism
Accidental plagiarism
Self-plagiarism.
.Source material.

Direct Plagiarism
Direct plagiarism has to do with word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else’s work, without giving credit to anyone and without quotation marks.

Mosaic Plagiarism
Mosaic Plagiarism can happen when a student borrows phrases from a source without quoting where he borrows it from, or finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original.

Accidental Plagiarism
Accidental plagiarism occurs when a person did not cite their sources, or misquotes their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source by making use of similar words, groups of words, and sentence structure without giving credit to anyone.

Self Plagiarism
This happens when a student submits his or her own previous work, or mixes parts of previous works, without permission from the professors that are involved. For example, when a student incorporates part of a term paper he or she wrote in high school into a paper assigned in a college course, without permission from the professors involved . ETIQUETTE

Etiquette is defined as formal rules and manners that are considered sacred and acceptable in society. Or, it refers to the guiding principle that dictates what our behavior and manners should be in society. It proves an asset because it tells you in explicit terms about what it considers to be logical and rational. It is the etiquette that draws a different line between people with good manners and people who behave irresponsibly everywhere.
