WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is an impermissible or inappropriate act of using someone else's work or ideas to create your own work making it look like your idea. It can also be defined as an unlawful act of showing off someone else's work or ideas as your own, without their consent, or without acknowledging the main source of where the idea was gotten from.

This is a serious crime and extremely unacceptable in the content creation community, this act shouldn't be inhabited. It's well known that it would be easy to create contents when copying from someone else's idea to create yours but it's a bad habit and shouldn't partake in such.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

Below are the types of plagiarism;

Direct plagiarism:
Direct plagiarism is defined as a type of plagiarism that is copied verbatim of someone else's work, without quotation marks. This is also called word for word. Such person should be disciplined if caught on this act.

Accidental plagiarism:
This is when someone forgets to cite their site source of the article written. If using someones idea, it must be in quote to show references.

Complete plagiarism:
Complete plagiarism is the act of completely copying the whole work and idea of someone's else's work and labelling it as ones own. This is the worst type of plagiarism and must be avoided.

Duplicate plagiarism:
which also means self-plagiarism. This is the recycling or recopying of your own past works to create new ones.

Mosaic plagiarism:
This means borrowing a phrase from a source without using quotation mark or finds synonyms for the author's language.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

There are ways plagiarism can be avoided and should be noted, they are as follows;

Creativity and originality:
If you're creative and original in the content you're creating, there's absolutely no way you can be a victim of plagiarism. Most people find it hard to be creative making it possible for them to copy from somewhere.

Attribution:
When using a direct quote, make sure to use the quotation marks and give a citation to show the source where it was from. Do not always forget to give credit to the original source.

Paraphrasing:
Read and understand things then reform the ideas you got from someone else's idea in your own words, rather than copying and pasting.

Make researches and improve your knowledge:
Develop a habit of researching, it helps to improve your knowledge on writing skills and otherwise, get to know terms and ways to compose write-ups.

Present your own idea:
Try as possible to write your own contents and ideas, it helps academically and otherwise, instead of copying other people's ideas develop the habit of composing yours.

Use plagiarism checker tools:
Make sure to use plagiarism checker to check for possible plagiarism before uploading your content, There are various plagiarism tools online, make use of any of them to avoid falling a victim.

Site your source:
