Greetings to everyone in the Steemit community.
After being into Steemit for the period of one month and some weeks ,I deem it necessary to do my achievement 3 so I can understand more things on the Steemit platform. Here I’ll be talking about content etiquette/plagiarism.
Firstly ,
We’ll be looking at what plagiarism means.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM ?
Plagiarism is defined as an act that involves the use of another person's ideas, words, or designs, as yours in whole or just part of it ,without acknowledging the author. This is done by simply crediting the author or obtaining the authors permission.

There are various types of plagiarism. I will be talking about 8 types of plagiarism.

Complete Plagiarism: Here ,a researcher takes a manuscript or study that someone else created, and submits it under his or her name. The writer doesn’t edit ,he just presents the original work of another person as his own.

Source-based Plagiarism: This type of plagiarism refers to instances when misleading sources are used. With this type of plagiarism ,the author can quote something which is not existing or simply something which is not correct.

Direct Plagiarism: with this type of plagiarism ,the writer takes almost every word from another source. The writer removes some sentences from the original work but he still uses another person's words and ideas and tries to pass them out as his own.

Auto Plagiarism :also known as self-plagiarism occurs when a writer reuses significant portions of his previously done work without adding up something.

Paraphrasing plagiarism: means rewriting or rephrasing a piece of text in your own words. If you translate something without citing the source ,it is still plagiarism, as you're using someone else's ideas. You should always cite the source of your information in your work.

Mosaic Plagiarism : This occurs when one borrows phrases from a source without using synonyms of words different from the authors original work.
Accidental Plagiarism.

Global plagiarism:Presenting work which is exactly thesame as someone else’s work ,in text and design.

Unintentional plagiarism : This type is also known as accidental plagiarism ,it occurs when a writer fails to follow proper scholarly procedures for citation without an explicit intent to cheat.

HOW DO WE AVOID PLAGIARISM?
-To avoid plagiarism ,you need to Keep a citation of the sources you got ideas from in your work or research .
-Citations of quote from your sources always add your own ideas
-Always reference your work when you get ideas from different sources. Credit the original author in a citation text and also a reference list. Let the reader understand that the work is yours but you got information from other sources
-Use a plagiarism checker to check your work before you submit it or post it out. This is mostly to prevent accidental plagiarism which usually intentionally done.
