Goode evening my fellow steemians !! I am glad to participate in this task . The basic security on steemit . The objective of this task is to help the newcomers to acquire knowledge about measures we need to take to be free from danger. And how to differentiate the keys . And to no how to enter wallet, and transfer . It is important to understand the basic knowledge on security since this will protect, especially the newcomers from falling pray . For my own understanding Security can be define as safety or measures taken to be safe or protected, the state of being free from danger or threat . If measures are not taken one can be a victim . And that's why steemit provided this task for the benefit of all the newcomers , to carefully take measures . ![16301571250721310038753.jpg]()

Question 1. Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit .

Yes i have retrieved my keys . They are 5 keys in number but each of them originated from one which is the master password , and i retrieved them all because all of them are important . The keys came in form of codes How i retrieve some of the keys : I retrieved the Master password when i was signing up . I then go to my steemit.com wallet and retrieve other keys, example of how i go to my wallet , i go to the permissions and tab inside my steemit wallet , i saw my public posting key at the top of the page alongside it i saw a button that says show private key and as i click on that button it requested my master password , as i put it i saw my posting key displayed . The type of keys i retrieved are Master Password , Posting key , Active key , Owner key , and Memo key. Example of the keys is shown below .

Questions 2 Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions
Yes i do .
As mentioned above Master key
is used to derive all keys for my account, if someone has access to my master password , they can steal my account and all of the tokens in it because it is a powerful key it is used to generate all the other keys, including the owner key and the master password is not to be using every time , it has to be kept save , the only reason i should be using it is when i am going through the account recovery , in that case i can now bring my master password out from where i saved it . The master password is at the very top of the hierarchy because it grant the most authority and is almost never neccessary I spacfically mentioned 5 keys above because i know quite well that master pasword is not called key that's because i took time to read i was able to understand reason why masterpasword is not called key is because all of the keys are achually derived from this single password . that' s why it is calked the masterpassword . It is also called the seed because it is the first password that is created , and it is from that the rest of the keys spring forth . That's why it can be used to perform any functions on steemit . From social activities to financial activities .

Posting key :
Allows accounts to post, comments edit,vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts . Steemit recommended each users to be loging in every day with the posting key. In incase my password or key is compromised the more i use it, so a limited posting key exsists to restrict the damage that a compromised account key would couse. And posting key is at the botom of the hieachy because it can do the least it can only be be used to perform social activities as i mentioned earlier , though this key activities are common , they do not require a high level of security , because they do not authorize any oporations which can negatively impact token. As posting keys has the fewest authorities we are told that there is no ham using them , if i am confuse of which keys to use i can quickly remember to use my posting key . We are akso warned to becareful because posting key can also be abused .

Active key
This is only meant for more sensitive tasks such as trasfering funs, power up and power down transations , converting steem dollars , voting for witnesses ,updating profile details , avatar, placing a market other . If a key with higher authority is required to perform the action , that's when active key will come into play .

Owner key
We use this when neccessary . It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account , it is meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a compromised account.

Memo key
This key is used for encryping and decrypting memos when transferring founds. In order to encrypt a memo i can use the pound like/# sign before it . but currently the memo is not used .

Question 3 . How do you plan to keep your master password ?

I have already saved it in my flash drive , my mail, and my dairy, because i dont want any damage or somthing else that can couse my password to damage , because there is no way i can recover it back and i value my account very much, so it is important that i save it well . And i believe that my flash drive , mail , dairy where i store it it ok .

Question 4 . Do you know how to transfer your steem toten to another steem user account ?
Yes i do , tokens can not be taken back if stolen or sent to the wrong account . if i want to transfer steem token to another steem users account , i will have to log in to my wallet , log in with my active key , click on steem , then click on transfer . I will now input the user name , then input the quontity i want to transfer then i will verify and comfirm the usename which i am sending it to, i will then click on ok .

Question 5 . Do you know how to power up your steem ?

There are many ways to power up my steem but the one that have already enter my brain now which i can explain by creating some example is this , i will visit my wallet and log in with my active key , after loging in i will click on steem and power up among the options will appear then i will click on power up . It is now my work to choose numbers of steem to powet up , and i will click on ok .

Summary
The main purpose of this task is for me and my fellow newcomers to get the basic knowledge of security on steemit. For us to take measures on how to protect our keys , expectially the master password and also to no how to use the posting key . Thanks to steemit .
