what is plagiarism

Plagiarism is a situation or a practice where by an individual or a writer takes someones work without the authors knowledge neither any reward given to the original author of the work.

Types of plagiarism source

  1. Global plagiarism: this type of Plagiarism have when a writer takes an entire work by someone else and presents as hi own.

  2. Paraphrasing Plagiarism: This type of plagiarism is very common. This when one rephrases someone's a peice of work without citing the source or giving credit to the person.

  3. Verbatim Plagiarism: this when one directly copies a text from someone else work without citation

  4. Patchwork or Moziac Plagiarism: this implies copying text, images and phrases from different sources and putting them together to form your own work.

  5. Self plagiarism: This time of Plagiarism is done to your own work by copying texts, images and phrases of your already submitted work to Create a new piece of work.

  6. Accidental plagiarism: this type happens when an individual copies another person's work and doesn't cite the source or cites the source wrongly.

Effects of Plagiarism

After going through the various types of Plagiarism, the following effects can be identified
Firstly, Plagiarism leads to mental laziness to think and reason in the sense that when you frequently copies someones work, you are not pushed to work hard reasoning out your own work.
Secondly, Plagiarism is an act punishable by law that is it an illegal act so in most cases individuals can be persecuted for such an act
And thirdly, Plagiarism destroys the writer's reputation.

How to avoid Plagiarism

1.The best way to avoid Plagiarism is to always make sure to properly cite phrases, text, image or any work that is taken from someone else's work .
2.It is also advisable to use plagiarism checker before submitting your work.
