hello, today I shall be writing my achievement 3 post which is based on Content Etiquette. After taking my time to study this course, I can boldly say that I now understand the basic knowledge on producing and sharing original content, proof of brain concept, and also the Steem community etiquette, hence my move to write this achievement 3 post.

What is Plagiarism

Plagiarism in simple terms means representing another person's work, idea as your own without making reference to the original source of the work or idea, thereby trying to make people believe that the content is originally yours, maybe so you could take credit for the work or possibly make money from it.`

plagiarism is theft of ideas or works that we must avoid as content providers as it does it speak good of any content provider, it is better you write, share your own ideas and intellectuals and get reviews which could be a guide on the area you need to develop as a writer or content provider than trying to copy peoples work without giving them credit.

why we must Avoid Plagiarism

like I earlier stated, every content provider who has the intention to grow must do away with plagiarism, because:

a.
you are not doing yourself any good as you are just sharing another man's idea which can not help you to grow in what you are doing. instead, you should work on yourself by sharing that your own very ideas, wait for criticisms and reviews and see the areas you can improve upon and you would be surprised at how far you can achieve f you are consistent.

b.
plagiarism is theft. yes. it's stealing, you are trying to take credit or even make money from someone's else hard work, probably you do not have an idea how much effort he/she has invested in putting together the content, and you want to use the work without giving due credit to the source, what if someday you start sharing your content and someone else is busy plagiarizing your work without giving you credit?

c.
what if you get caught?? have you thought of it? yes, there is always that one-day "wey monkey go go market, e no go return" have you thought of how much damage it could cost you? have you thought of how much damage it could do to your career?

How to Avoid Plagiarism

plagiarism can be avoided by making reference to the original source of the content you intend to use that is not originally yours, be it images, audio, videos, articles, etc.

not just the source but a link to the source, if you must copy and paste text, put them in a quote or format them accordingly.

examples of citaation

Introduction to cryptocurrency trading "Many investors like to trade cryptocurrency because it’s an extremely volatile asset. If you can time the market right, trading crypto can give you much higher returns than traditional investments. Cryptocurrency traders often have one of two goals: to accumulate Bitcoin or make a profit in USD." Source

in the example above, in the original post, there is

"introduction to cryptocurrency trading ."

while the rest of the sentences are copied from their source without changing anything, so I have to wrap it in quotation marks

"Many investors like to trade cryptocurrency because it’s an extremely volatile asset. If you can time the market right, trading crypto can give you much higher returns than traditional investments. Cryptocurrency traders often have one of two goals: to accumulate Bitcoin or make a profit in USD." Source for more info

conclusively, "I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them" just as I encourage every other content provider to do same
