Achievement 2 task by @omeakufarms: Basic Security on Steem.

KEYS

The steem account is of very real value and should be protected at all cost. The keys play important role in safeguarding the account and help to wade off intruders. Since I have gone through this achievement2 post and equipped to provide answers to the necessary questions therein. I will really appreciate your support and comments.

Question 1.
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Answer: yes. I have all of them; master, posting, active and owners key.

Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Answer: The Master Password is the password you get upon signing up. You should then take that password, go to your Steemit.com wallet, retrieve all the other keys.

Posting key - The posting key allows accounts to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts.
Active key - The active key is meant for more sensitive tasks.

Owner key - The owner key is a very powerful key and it is only meant for use when necessary.

Memo key - This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos like transferring funds.

Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
Answer: I will write it offline on a paper and keep it safe. I will also have it safe in any of my external disk.

I plead and seriously advise you save your master password offline etc, for it is the most powerful of all password. You can only login into your account using the key with the appropriate permissions for what you are doing. If logging in with your posting key, make sure you don't overwrite it. Do not disclose your password or keys with any third party site except you are sure of that site, there are phishing site that has been created to steal peoples credentials, so take note of this, don't fall victim. Always remember, there is no way to recover your account if you lose your master password or owner key!, If your account is stolen you can only recover its ownership and not the funds.
