Hello Steemian folks,

I am here to complete acheivement 3 on plagiarism.

Plagiarism is when someone copies the work of someone without their consent or without taking permission.

Types of plagiarism.

A. Complete plagiarism

This type of plagiarism can be considered to be intellectual theft. The one stealing the work of the other author copies the whole work of the other author. This is mostly the most severe form of plagiarism and it is widely frowned upon.

B. Self or author plagiarism

This type mostly involves published researchers. This can be also known as duplication, happens when an author takes important parts of his or her previously published work without referral or stating clearly and then posses of as a new publication.

C. Direct plagiarism

Direct plagiarism occurs when an author copies the work of an author, word for word.
As the name implies the author picks the other author's work without changing anything.

D. Accidental plagiarism

plagiarism can be intentional or unintentional, but still there is not excuse for stealing someone's work. An author can accidentally plagiarize someone's content due to neglect or due to hastiness.

E. Mosaic plagiarism

This is when a content creator inserts someone else’s phrases as his own research. This type of plagiarism is not easily detected as the one commiting the crime takes his time to copy or steal the publication carefully so that he is not caught..' It is also known as patchwork plagiarism'.

Causes of plagiarism?
People who plagiarise or steal the work of other author's are generally lazy or they lack the skills or ability to create or make a post of their own.
It might also be that sometimes they do not believe their work will get the recognition they want their work to get so instead they prefer copying or stealing another person's content.

How To Avoid plagiarism

As a content creator you should always as permission before you use someone else's work.

Secondly, always make sure to cite the sources where you have taken or borrowed reseach.
