Everywhere around me smelt good with the fragrance of perfumes worn by dignitaries at the president daughter's wedding.

The Lagos State personal Assistant to the state governor stood tall in all his elegance and pride asking questions and I found him to be very proud ,arrogant and inquisitive.

Obviously, he was a figure head and felt on top of the world as people looked at him to be very lucky to be the governor's personal assistant .

Holding a tobacco in his hand which is dangerous to health and also prohibited by government as awareness is made on bill boards, television and radio and also warning that smokers are liable to die young and aside that could lead to mental illness which is brain damage and cause heart cancer. I felt pity for his family and especially for his mom for birthing a baby boy turned tobacco smoker.

The personal assistant found a chair and sat down ,crossed his legs, inhaled his tobacco and then puffed out smoke , looked up and asked me these questions.

"Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit",

he asked in a mean harsh loud tone.It dawned on me that he was a steemian too.Oh yes I have as I bit my lips.

  1. Posting key
  2. Active key
  3. Owner key
  4. Memo key
  5. Master password

He further asked me to tell him the function of each key and restrictions.

I wondered within me and answered ," the posting key is used everyday to login, make comments, edit, vote resteem, post messages, follow or mute other accounts.

The active key is needed for funds transfer, converting steem dollar, power up or down transactions, voting for witnesses, uploading profile details and avater, and placing a market order .

The look in his eyes suggested that of surprise as may be he didn't expect such intelligent answers from me.

I then proceeded to tell him about the owner's key. The owner's key is only meant for use when necessary . It is used to retrieve a stolen account and change other keys, but it not the most powerful key.

The master key is the most powerful key which can change every other key incuding itself.

The difference between the master key and the owner key is that the master key is needed for transactions while the owner key is used to retrieve stolen account.

Wonderful ! he exclaimed as he nearly gave me a hand shake but held it back.

How is your key kept and where do you likely keep it?

still puffing out his tobacco which irritated me so much because of its smell. I write them down in my book which I put in my file jacket and then put it at the bottom of my box which is out of reachof anyone. Of course I have no fear losing it because my box is my personal property and I share it with no one.

He never thought I would get it right because he feels, through his look or thought which I read like a psychologist would. As if that was not enough ,he employed another trick .

"Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account"?

He questioned me but this time softly.Yes I know how to transfer funds from my wallet to another wallet I replied . After logging into my page with my posting key there will be a display which I am to click on wallet ,then it will take me to a different page where I use my active key and my user name to log in and when the page I logged in with my wallet account with my active key then one must click on the down arrow next to the number of steem tokens held in the wallet section of the account then click transfer in the drop down box. Then enter the name of the account to whom you wish to make the transfer to, the the number of tokens and a memo that is if desired ,and then click next.As he sat down staring at me,I went on to tell him that one may enter a memo if desired on the confirmation screen then clicks okay to confirm.

The final question nearly threw me off
balance as it took me a little while before answering.

How does one power up one's steem?

he asked,I stood there lost in my thoughts and with the pride in him,he was about saying something when I gave an answer " one uses the same method as the transfer method, logging into your wallet with active key and your username then click on the drop-down box as the transfer next to the steem number but selects power up instead, enters the quantity of steem and click power up.

Go your way the personal assistant screamed at me and said 'you have done very well.Bravo! to you but do not think of me as proud or bad or a tobacco smoker for you do not know where we shall meet again.

Hi @patienceukanah, I really like your writing style. Keep it up! However, there's a mistake in your post:

"I then proceeded to tell him about the owner's key. The owner's key is only meant for use when necessary. It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account including the owner's key. It is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover compromised accounts."

The owner key is indeed powerful as it can be used to retrieve a stolen account and change other keys, but it's not the most powerful. The most powerful key is the Master key, which can change every other key including itself. It's essential to keep it safe. By copying your keys out, do you mean handwritten? That's not practical, but printing them out is better, and also storing them in a cloud.

Please edit your post to clarify the difference between the owner key and the master key. Also, mention the keys needed to perform transactions and power up. Tag me when you're done!
