Hello Steemians, welcome to my achievement post number 3 which is centered on PLAGIARISM. So below is a detailed explanation of what plagiarism is all about.

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of copying someone's creative works, ideas or informations without their authoritative guidance or without their permission. It can also mean copying someone's contents be it texts, videos and images without their consent or without giving them that credit as the sole Owners of such contents. Someone who plagiarize will always present someone's contents as his own thus not giving the credit to the source of those informations which is a Fraudulent act or behavior.

But then, how can one be careful so as not to be practicing Plagiarism? Well,it requires some necessary moves and that is CITATION and LINKING IMAGE SOURCE

What is citation all about?

Citation has to do with revealing the source of the post u want to present. IF the texts you have doesn't originate From you then you have to do well to cite theirs individual sources. That alone will make your contents to be free from Plagiarism because that source you cited in form of a link with directly lead someone to the main origin of those informations. This will also go a long way to add more value to your contents.

For any cited phrase, sentence you made you can create a reference to the original source by using the quote symbol (“”) or formatted using the markup symbol (>)

Example of Citation

The human eye is Unique and it has some stunning attributes.

“The human eye is a sense organ, part of the sensory nervous system, that reacts to visible light and allows us to use visual information for various purposes including seeing things, keeping our balance, and maintaining circadian rhythm" Source

When someone comes across it, the source link leads straight to the real source of the Content.

Linking image source

When your post contains images that is not from ur own end,you can also create a link to the website where you derived those image contents.There are Ready and free to use images available on those websites but in other to avoid Plagiarism in this aspect you equally have to present a link address to those sites where you just uploaded them from. Examples of those websites are ;

  • http://pexels.com
  • http://shutterstock.com
  • http://unsplash.com

    Example

    pexels-pixabay-63320.jpg

    Image source

    The above image is a human eye and it has a link attached to it which leads straight into the website where it was gotten or uploaded from.
