Hello Readers 🤗,, I hope you are having a blissful day, my Name is Nefisat, I'm a Nigerian and this is my Achievement 3 Post which is on the Serious Topic Of Content Etiquette. Let's Begin.
Basically when asked about Plagiarism, one would say it's the act of stealing or copying of work, but it really is much more and much serious than it seems.
In my Words, Plagiarism is the process of taking, stealing, rebranding a piece of writing or image originally made by another writer or designer to give the impression that it was written by you.
Or another Definition by Merriam Webster's Online Dictionary gotten from Plagiarism.org says Plagiarism “is to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own, to use (another's production) without crediting the source, to commit literary theft, to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.”

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
- Being as creative as possible: the author of a post should be wary that they have been other writers and authors before him/her and as such he must try his best to make his work unique as possible.
- Usage of Dictionary to Get better words than the basic/common words: a dictionary can be of help positively, as the author gets to site better and more easily to be thought words by other authors.
Plagiarism can be Direct or Accidental as the case may be, Author can choose to directly take content from another, and might also be unaware of what he/she is doing and publish a very similar write up to what has been done before.
On the STEEMIT PLATFORM, the usage of QUOTES And LINKS ARE OF SUPERIOR IMPORTANCE IN REFERENCING TO AN ALREADY PUBLISHED WORK(CITATION)
- When we want to show we got a piece of writing from, we use a quotes(“”) or a markup (>) to properly indicate that it wasn't our originally made content.
- Same thing applies to images, as we can use links to describe and lead to where we got the info's from. For example the link's description is written in Sets[] and the actual placed immediately after it is pasted In brackets (). Like this [Source of Text/Image](link to Text/Image).
FINAL NOTE: Plagiarism is wrong and users should try their best in bringing nice and unique content to the platform
Upon writing this post, I confirm that I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
Thanks for Sharing Your Time♥️
