It's natural for humans to give and expect credit for a job well done. It leaves a feeling of self fulfillment, satisfaction and a measure of self esteem. However, what if you discover that your ideas and write-up were copied and written in a popular national journal without proper reference, recognition, and credit ascribed to you as the author/source! You'll agree with me that such an individual will be left with feelings of exploitation and betrayal. The offended might even take legal actions against such individual or organisation!

From the example cited above, my source and quotation are easily seen. What, though, is plagiarism? According to the Oxford language dictionary-

"plagiarism refers to the practise of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own" Source

This act of fraudulence is not only limited to words on paper. Copied images, videos, and recording without authorised permission or citation from the original source can also be termed as plagiarism.
