Question. What do we understand about Plagiarism?
Answer. Plagiarism is considered as the criminal act of copying the original content of any author and publishing with the name of others without giving the reference of the real author. The content can be anything like documents, music, art, videos etc.

Now, we will understand about types of plagiarism,

  • Self Plagiarism: Using the work again and again even if the author is real and original. If he is not giving attribution, it is considered Self Plagiarism.

  • Accidental Plagiarism: This is the most common type of plagiarism. While writing a paragraph sometimes a writer writes the phrases which is said by famous personalities but he misses to provide the reference of that phrase. It is called Accidental Plagiarism.

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying documents word by word without giving any attribution is called Direct Plagiarism.

  • Complete Plagiarism: When a writer hides the name and claims that he is the real owner of that document. It is called Complete Plagiarism.

  • Souce-based Plagiarism: This is the type of plagiarism in which the writer gives the citation link in the publication but fails to provide the correct link to the source/credit of the real author.

  • Paraphrasing Plagiarism: When a writer tries to spin the word using a spin bot tool or self rephrase the document and present it as his real content, it is called Paraphrasing Plagiarism.

~~~
To cite a paragraph, we can use "" or > markup after that very close link is needed to show the source of that phrase.
Example of providing source to the content:
"Plagiarism might not be the same in all countries. Some countries, such as India and Poland, consider plagiarism to be a crime, and there have been cases of people being imprisoned for plagiarizing. In other instances, plagiarism might be the complete opposite of "academic dishonesty"; in fact, in some countries the act of plagiarizing a professional's work is seen as flattering. Students who move to the United States and other Western countries from countries where plagiarism is not frowned upon often find the transition difficult."source
