Proof of brain

Steem is a scalable blockchain platform that is accessible to the public. People can use Steem to post original content and earn STEEM currency (a fast and fee-less digital token) by using their brain (what can be called “Proof-of-Brain”. If the person writing the post includes a picture or other content from another source, they are required to cite that source.

All people need to be accountable for their actions and what they post.

Plagiarism

Steem cleaners go in and check your content to make sure it’s authentic and not copied from other content on the web.

You should be posting true value to help #Steemit community users. When you plagiarize you risk having your content taken down, you also de-value other’s content.

Some types of plagiarism include:

  • Direct plagiarism is copying words or ideas from someone else without giving them credit.
  • Accidental plagiarism occurs when a person neglects to cite their sources, or misquotes their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source by using similar words, groups of words, and/or sentence structure without attribution.
  • paraphrasing text from a source without citation
  • giving incorrect information about the source

How to avoid plagarism

When you mention the source of your content, you have to provide a link to the site it came from.
When information is paraphrased, the source also has to be linked in your post.

It’s important to use your own photos and videos that you personally take. If you don’t have your own photos you can use a Free photo site like #pixabay I use Canva for most of my content.

When you use another author’s work or someone else’s photo, you have to credit that person.
It’s essential to cite the source you’ve taken the content from, including quotes.

These are the points I’ve noted about Content etiquette.

I also found a nice photo of a Cheetah on Canva. I heard that a Cheetah from Steem Cleaners goes in to sweep our content.
