Hello everyone,
The use of markdowns in this program is very important, that is why I took my time to learn all the markdowns that i will need when doing my activities on steemit. When I joined steemit, I found it difficult to apply some common editing to my work such as bolding some text, applying italic, headlines and so much more although others were applying them, but after some series of studies, I have learnt how to apply all these and more.
Today, my mission is to complete my achievement four by explaining how to use the markdowns on steemit.
How to create headline,
Lets begin with how to use the markdowns to make headline when preparing our post on steemit. A headline can be made by simply putting a # symbol before the head tittle, when you input the # symbol, leave a space before typing in your heading and we can make sub headlines by increasing the number of # to decrease the preceding headline. let's take a look at this example below;

How to align text into two cells
In writing a post, one might want to write two text in two different columns, it could be that the writer wants to translate a writing or differentiate a text. Doing this, we align one text to the left and the other to the right. Example,
When a writer wants to draw the attention of readers to a certain text or word, he or she will bold to so readers can move their minds to it. To make a text bold, just put two stars '**' at both beginning and ending of the text or word you wish to bolden. Examples,

How to make a text italic
A writer can also decide to put a text or word in an italic form to draw the attention of readers, we can do this on steemit by putting a star '*' in both the beginning and the ending of the text or word to want to put in italic form. Examples,

How to form tables
Tables are very important to use because they help us in easy understanding, tables are used compare and differentiate two or more objects. In steemit, tables are very important to enhance easy understanding of ones post.
Tables are made up of rows and columns, to create a table, separate the rows with hyphens(-) and the columns with a vertical line (|). See the example below,
QUESTION | ANSEWER |
---|---|
Name | Razik |
Age | 24 |
Country | Ghana |
Institute | UPSA |
How to quote text
One can not always write everything on his or her own when writing a post, but when borrowing someone's work or a text it important we put the text in quotes to indicate it is a borrowed text, it is very important to practice this in steemit and we are going to learn how to do that. When you wish to quote another person's work or text, add '>' in front or before the text or sentence. Take a look at this example bellow,
A word to the wise is enough
How to put your text or image in the center of the page
Putting your text or image in the center of the page makes the work look nice and attractive to your readers, it is very important to learn how to do this on steemit, now let's get to it on how to do that.
To do it just follow this format, type '<'center >' then type the text and then add </>. Example
How to create a link
One can decide to paste the who link showing the source of a text or an image but posting the entire link would not make the work attractive by readers since links are lengthy. To make ones work attractive to readers, one is advised to put links in the work while the entire link do not show but readers would still have access to them. To do this,f irst open '[source ]' right after this, open brackets () then put the or paste the link in the bracket. Example,
source
I have also learnt how to;
- Upload videos with their links
- How to upload codes
- How to add subscript and superscript
- How to justify text
