Hello steemites, am humbly@ritamike. Am here to share with you on the basic security on Steem and how well I have learnt and understood them.
WHAT IS A KEY
Basically a key can be called a password, is used to maintain privacy. A key is a metal which is used to lock or unlock a door or any lock at all.
BASIC SECURITY KEY ON STEEM
These are group of letters and symbols used as a passcode to maintain privacy on Steem account.
The security system on Steem is a very important topic because it covers our privacy and account. These keys on Steem is an extraordinary thing because here the password provided is lengthy and complex and it is useful in different levels.
While registering, a PDF file containing the unique keys was sent to me . They include; Tron account, master password, steemit public keys and most importantly the private key which comprises of four(4) different passwords/keys.
-Memo key
-Owner key
-Active key
-Posting key

- Private memo key: used to encrypt and decrypt memos when you want to transfer funds
- Private owner key: strongest password, this password can be used to change the existing password we have. It is important that we save this password offline. It can be used to recover account that was lost.
- Private active key: used to transfer funds, doing power up and down, converting Steem to dollars. Uniquely it can be used to update profile details and pictures or place orders in the market.
- Private posting key: Basically used to post, comment,edit,vote,share, follow or unfollow other accounts.
HOW TO TRANSFER STEEMIT
TO SAVINGS: click on the drop-down arrow next to Steem or Steem dollar in your wallet and select transfer to savings.
TO ANOTHER USER:- from your wallet page,click the Steem or Steem dollar balances with the down arrow next to them
- In the drop-down menu, click transfer
- Type the username of the account of the account you want to send the Steem dollar to, double and triple check the spelling
- Enter the amount of Steem or Steem dollars to send
- Enter a memo to go along with the transaction
- Click on submit
- You will be prompted for your password. You will need to enter your master password or active key.
