Hello steemit,
My journey through steemit have been educating. I never know what plagiarism was until i had to write this achievement. Steemit has made me more of a reader.

PLAGIARISM
This is the act of stealing or passing of someone's idea or words or work as yours with out crediting the person. It can also be seen the act of presenting someone's original idea as your own. source
Now this can be intentional and unintentional, either way it is an offence in the academic world. There not much this that have not be written before which is why a it is quite easy to plagiarize. It is wise, you make use of a plagiarism checker.

ACTS THAT ARE CONSIDERED AS PLAGIARISM

There are various ways of committing this offence, some are delibrate some are not.

1. Writing someone's idea word for word
   without quotation marks and and citing your
   source.
2. Taking a persons idea but changing the words
   without still citing your source.
3. Taking images, videos and memes from sites
   without stating them.
4. It is also plagiarism if the source is cited wrong.

HOW TO PREVENT PALARGIARISM

1. When using someone's idea, pictures or
   video, please cite your source.
2. If you take a person's statement word for
   word, they should be placed in quotation
   marks aso cite the source
3. Avoid writing the bulk of your from someone
   else's work
4. Try as much as you can, to put your own ideas
   into your work.
5. To be on the safer side, make us of plagiarism
   checkers to help cross check your work.
