Etiquette is a term that denotes convention, decency, or politeness. We must abide by the laws and rules set out by our society in order to live in a good society. To maintain harmony and good relations with other members of society, we must adhere to certain social rules. Like, there are many different communities on Steemit, which is a vast society. We must therefore adhere to Steemit's guidelines in order to preserve a positive relationship with the users of this site. To submit anything on this platform, you must adhere to content etiquette. What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is frequently interpreted as the act of copying or appropriating another person's ideas or creative work. The severity of the offense, however, might be hidden by using terminology like "copying" and "borrowing," which violate social norms.

There are various types of plagiarism. we will learn about the most common, Such as:

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM :
Complete plagiarism is the most extreme type of copying. When someone plagiarizes another person's work verbatim, they are passing it off as their own. This might be done with a research paper, an article, an image, etc. Like identity theft or stealing, this type of plagiarism is unoriginal.

VERBATIM:
This is also known as direct plagiarism. When we read a book, we must have noticed that any statement made by a famous person is always represented in double quotations and is highlighted so that we know it was said by this specific person. Consider someone writing an article and mentioning someone else's work or words that are exactly the same. However, this person does not put it in quotation marks. Then that person is said to be engaging in direct plagiarism. Verbatim or direct plagiarism is defined as copying another person's work word for word without using quotation marks.

SELF-PLAGIARISM:
Duplicating one's own work falls under this kind of plagiarism. Another name for it is auto-plagiarism. It occurs when a writer takes words from a piece of work they've already published and uses them in another. These instances of plagiarism are frequent in academic journals. Researchers are permitted to reuse their research for other research projects, but the percentage of reuse must adhere to standards imposed by publishing journals if they permit it.

SOURCE-BASED PLAGIARISM:
Research papers are the most frequent setting for this type of plagiarism to occur. References that have aided in the writing of the research paper must be included, Source-based plagiarism occurs when someone gives incorrect references that are either untrue or unrelated to the work. Plagiarism with a source reference sometimes includes fabricating or falsifying data. Data manipulation or falsification involves presenting false or fictitious information.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM:
This type of plagiarism frequently happens as a result of ignorance. Inadvertent plagiarism occurs when we leave research papers alone since we don't know how to properly paraphrase, cite, and quote them.

How can you avoid plagiarism?

There are some precautions we can take to avoid plagiarism.

Always give credit to the person whose work you use in your own. To avoid verbatim, use double quotation marks.

Create your own ideas and thoughts and apply them to your work. Do not plagiarize another person's ideas or work.

Utilize paraphrasing. The representation of an idea or thought in our own words in such a way that the original essence of that idea remains the same is referred to as paraphrasing.

Use online plagiarism detection software. There are numerous websites that provide plagiarism checker tools. These websites compare your work to thousands of other works available on the internet and provide you with a percentage of plagiarized content.
