Plagiarism is the act or practice of using or copying someone else's work or ideas and presenting it as your own. When you claim ideas or body of work from someone else,it is considered as a serious offence, without proper references or citations that gives credit to the main owner of the ideas or work.

Now i will proceed to discuss;

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are different types of plagiarism and we'll be taking a look at each if them. They are:

1.Direct Plagiarism
2.Accidental plagiarism
3.Mosaic Plagiarism
4.Paraphrasing plagiarism
5.Self-plagiarism

1 DIRECT PLAGIARISM

The Direct plagiarism is seen an intentional way or process of copying or stealing someone else's work content.Just as the name implies (direct), the writings are being copied word for word and pasted in the new piece. Then the copying_author publishes it as their own idea and work without any citations or references giving credit to the real author.

2 ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM

In the other hand Plagiarising doesn’t always take place intentionally. It’s still considered plagiarism if a persons reuses or copy another person's writings without referencing their source, when you write improper citation of the source or maybe forget to put quotation marks on accident. It is considered an accident because it's not intentional.

3 MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

In mosaic plagiarism, the ideas or body of work of the first author is easily paraphrased with improper citation.Due to the mixture of many sources that might includes the writer's own ideas and work,it’s then difficult to detect.

4 PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM

In Paraphrasing plagiarism,it is believed to be the most common type of plagiarism. Also It’s very similar to mosaic plagiarism that I've mentioned above already. But nevertheless, the difference is that the work that must have been copied is not mixed into the new ideas, research or body or work.

5 SELF PLAGIARISM

The last type of plagiarism I want to discuss about is 'Self plagiarism'. This exist or happen when you choose to copy your own writing, whether you are copying it intentionally or not.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
There are several ways of avoiding plagiarism

Here are some few steps in which one could avoid plagiarism

  1. CITATIONS: The safest way to write or copy someone else's work is to the original creator. This can easily be done by acknowledgement of the original creator. If you are copying an article that is not your own, add a citation(reference) in your writing that identifies the full name of the source, the date it was published, or gives a direct link to the original creator and any other citation element that’s required.

  2. QUOTATIONS: Another important and easy way of avoiding plagiarism is by using quotation marks around the text to signify that the words are not your own. A direct quote should also produce reference leading to the source so that the readers know where the quote is coming from.
3.USING PLAGIARISM CHECKER: When you are processing your research on a topic, you might have been so used to some phrases that you tend to use them in your writing with no any citation, using an online plagiarism checking tool can help you to identify these problems just before publishing your work.

  3. ESTABLISH YOUR OWN IDEA:Than for you to be copying someone's else's idea or reusing someone's work, you can establish what you have to say about it from your own research and point of view. It is all in you,and also our different perspective about life is what makes us unique.

CONCLUSION

For the fact that most Plagiarisms are always not intentional, the writers can come up with the same theme of work but the approaches will definitely be different.

I have read and understood the steemit etiquette on steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.
