Plagiarism Definition

It is defines as,The plagiarism is the process of taking other people’s words and/or ideas and pretending that they are your own. Plagiarism is taking codes or paragraphs without citing the real author providing incorrect information about the source of information. It can be intentional plagiarism or unintentional plagiarism. Now lets see what are the types of Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism

Accidental Plagiarism
Mosaic Plagiarism

1) Direct Plagiarism
Direct plagiarism is the most harmful one. This When the plagiarist copies and paste the text from someone else’s work and neglects to cite the source or remove quotation marks, then it is direct plagiarism. Direct plagiarism utilizes source material exactly as the original without citation and without quotation marks. It can occur at both a sentence and paragraph level.

2)Self Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism is one of the common types of plagiarism. Self-plagiarism can occur when an author republishes his or her work in its entirety, or reuses large portions of his or her previously published material in new work. Republishing work without the consent of the publisher or proper citations. Another form of self-plagiarism is data fragmentation.

3)Accidental Plagiarism
Another common form of plagiarism is accidental plagiarism. When the plagiarist misquotes the parts of the text he/she has taken from the source material or does not cite the source even or adequately or cites a wrong source, they that is considered as plagiarism. Accidental plagiarism whether intended or unintended there is no excuse for plagiarism and the consequences are often the same .it may be accidental if it occurred because of neglect, mistake. Student are likely to commit accidental plagiarism.

4)Mosaic Plagiarism

Causes Of Plagiarism
There are some causes of plagiarism like lack of interest, lack of time. We tend to copy information and put it into our work when we do not have any desire, motivation ,passion to do proper research. Some student think that if the use just couple of phrases someone else work think it does not count as plagiarism.

How to avoid plagiarism
When we write something that includes words, statistcs, facts, information from an author, pictures be sure to putdown a footnote ,quotation mark or an in-text reference to the author. If there is no author then state where you found the information. Also do proper citations, using pictures, quoting, paraphrasing. One more tip is summarize a text read through information and condense what you learned by summarizing it. summarizing means reducing the text to its original size in your own words for instance if you read an article summarize it by condensing the most important points in a paragraph or turn a paragraph into a sentence when summarizing be sure to only include the most important ideas this will more likely ensure that what you write is also in your own words.
