plagiarism can be said to be an act of imitating or presenting a replica of someone's work,ideas or content.it is a fraudulent act which involves stealing or lying about a particular content without giving a credit or quality citation it also involves giving an incorrect information about the quotation source.

It is very illegal and attracts offense, the copyright can be sued for copyright violation in a federal court which can be punishable by paying a fine or by a short time imprisonment.

Causes Of Plagiarism

plagiarism is mainly common ong students.its usually caused by either laziness, lack of academic knowledge, fear of failing, pride and so on. Most student feel reluctant about a particular content or work while some feel they are either bigger than a particular work or it's below there capacity.

Some also feel they can't just do it because they will probably fail or won't be remarked for it..lack of preparation also causes plagiarism

Types of plagiarism

There are so many types of plagiarism but I will be talking about 2 which are common in the society at large. They include;

• Mosaic plagiarism: This type of plagiarism involves using synonyms or restating an individual's work on order to make a work look real and different from the writers own. The plagiarist carefully makes a restatement of a particular work without a proper reference which is caused by gathering various information works from different sources.

• Deliberate plagiarism: This is a type of plagiarism which involves an individual presenting someone's work as his own internationally. The plagiarist present a work stolen from writer presenting it to the tutor as his/her own with aim of getting a remark or reward.this type of plagiarism attracts a high level offense because it's an intentionally.

Refraining From Plagiarism

As we have seen from the above context how plagiarism is been derived, we are to strictly refrain from it because it can lead to 'Loss of Reputation' Let's bring a content producing community where reputations are considered as the factor to employ a content developer.

A content developer with low reputation would not be considered for the job because the community is not looking for people with low reputation and the low reputation was as a result of not being unique and original. Copying and pasting

In order to be unique and original you must not indulge in the act of copy and pasting other people work by observing the following steps while creating a content, for the steemit content etiquette which highly prohibits plagiarism.

• Citing sources
• Paraphrasing
• Scrutinize your publication very well with the use of online tool before publishing
• Quotations are recommended

The aforementioned are ways you can utilize to make your content unique and original. Plagiarism is really am act that deserves a penalty. So, I am hereby accept the rules and regulations of the steemit community.
