Definition of Plagiarism
How about we get to know what plagiarism is before we start everything.

Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.Source

Plagiarism always occurs when an author, intentionally or unintentionally presents a work which he is not the original author. Plagiarism is a violation of someone's intellectual property rights and it is frowned upon.

Types of plagiarism

1. Copy and paste plagiarism as the name suggests. This is when an author copied text directly from a source and paste it into your own content without citing the source.

2. Accidental plagiarism. This occurs an author forgets to add quotations, misquote or refuse to cite the source of a content.

3. Paraphrased plagiarismIs when an author makes some changes to someone else's work and then present it as your own original work.

4. Self-plagiarism This is when an author reusing him own work that he has previously submitted some where else even though it is him own work. But, this is considered dishonest to submit since a new reader might think it is new.

How to avoid plagiarism

• Understanding of plagiarism.

• An author must be creative to bring about new ideas into your work.

• An author must learn to paraphrase carefully to help avoid copying the same information.

• Always try as much as possible to use the plagiarism checker to avoid plagiarism.

• Always keep a record of the sources you visit when making your research.

• Always cite the source of text and images.

It is very necessary to avoid this bad habit of plagiarism since it affects originality of others work. It is important we make good contributions to make reading and studies more interesting. This will help develop great thoughts in interacting with ourselves and other.
