Achievement 3 by @sweetest Task: Content Etiquette

Hello friends, it's another posting day here for me. This is my third achievement journey on the platform and I would say that I'm delighted to be part of this noble family. Everything seems organized and well-planned for us the newcomers.

I will be writing more about the term plagiarism which happens to be a menace in our society today. Plagiarism is an act of using someone else innovation, ideas, invention, articles, etc without due diligence and authorization.

This authorization may come from proper quotation, referencing, or sourcing. Proper use of these tools gives credit to the original author or source. However, we must trade carefully while using licensed images as they have restrictions and conditions of usage.

Even with the necessary sourcing and referencing, they may still be violated given the fact that they require conditions. to be met before they can be used. Conditions may be partial or outright purchase or conditions bothering on maintaining or editing part of the before usage.

According to google, plagiarism is " as the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own".
By so saying, it's safe to say or call plagiarism a FRAUDULENT ACT.
Plagiarism is commonly found in the academic body thereby making it quite easier for students to indulge in malpractices. they find it hard to read why cause GOOGLE provides all answers to them.

PLAGIARISM is classified into different types namely:

  • Global plagiarism: this means passing out an entire context as your own

  • Self-plagiarism: this is the recycle of your previous work

  • Paraphrasing plagiarism: this is the rephrasing of someone's idea and passing it as your own

  • Verbatism: this means directly copying someone's work

  • Patchwork plagiarism: means stitching together parts of different sources to create your text.

#####CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM:
To plagialize has its negative effects that might be a dent on our reputations for a quite long time, one of which are:

  • It leads to suspension at most an expulsion in your academic fields

  • at your workplace, it causes mistrust and most likely laying off from a particular position or the job entirely.
    While we now have an idea of the consequences of plagiarism, having the full knowledge of how to stay away and avoid it completely isn't out of place too and that entails;

  • Been detailed and committed in doing your work/findings( this means in the quest of your research, there's a possibility of not having an idea of a particular topic given to you, that's where your mentor comes in. ask questions rather copying someone's work. thats where @xkool comes in my life).

  • Cite your work accordingly and don't take credit for another's work.

  • plagiarism could lead to a lawsuit and trust me you wouldn't want your reputation to be tarnished over something that you can do but you've already limited your mind to theft.

In summary, be innovative, and create your idea without no fear of getting it right or wrong (that's the main aim of learning). This helps reduce plagiarism and its kind. it helps you think outside the box and helps you to easily detect a copyright assignment from work and documents. I'm grateful to @xkool for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this task.
