Plagiarism is copying someone else idea, text, or post as though it were yours.

I remember making a post on Facebook while scrolling through my news feed, I saw my post with another name. I checked and noticed the person didn't acknowledge the writer but posed it as his. That was theft and infringement of copyright.

Types of plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else’s work, without attribution and quotation marks.

Self-plagiarism occurs when a student submits his or her previous work, or mixes parts of previous works, without permission from all professors involved.

Accidental plagiarism occurs when a person neglects to cite their sources, misquotes their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source by using similar words, groups of words, and/or sentence structure without attribution.

To avoid all the means of plagiarism

You must always use quotation marks for copying and pasting text or statements.

You must cite the source of your content by putting the link to your content.

When paraphrasing a statement you must provide the reference.
