What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone's work ( it could be an idea, artwork, song, playlet, or writeup)as if it was an original without proper acknowledgement or citation to original creator or source.

Types of plagiarism

They are several types of plagiarism some of which are

  1. Direct plagiarism: this is the avof of copying someone's work word for word, detail to detail without altering anything and when done doesn't give credit to the original source from which it was created so as to form an image that the plagiarizer was the originator of the work
  2. Mosaic plagiarism: this is done by piecing together clauses, phrases and sentences from different works possibly on the same topic in an attempt to be smart to give an impression that a new work was developed without any help without proper citation of any of the sources used
  3. Paraphrasing plagiarism: this is the act of rewording someone else work in other for it to look different while still remaining the same meaning somewhat like a synonym without giving credit or properly citing the originator

As i wrote earlier all steemians are expected to be able to create works never seen before i.e original and they must possess quality up to certain level, copying and pasting from an ai site and any other site must be done with proper credit and citation given to the originator.

Embracing the existing Steem Community etiquette

As you all must be aware they are basic rules and etiquette guiding the current steemit community i hve familiarized myself with amd is fully prepared to employ them in my daily dealings with steemit

What can users post to Steemit?

There is no limit to what can be posted in steemit as long as it is legal and doesn't go against amy steemit law you can be creative with topics ranging from movies to singing to sports e.t.c

Example of citation;

I'll use the meaning of plagiarism gotten from another source

"Plagiarism, the act of taking the writings of another person and passing them off as one’s own. The fraudulence is closely related to forgery and piracy—practices generally in violation of copyright laws. "
