What is Plagiarism ?
Plagiarism is simply defined as a piece of writing that have been presented but been copied and then been presented as your work or piece of writing ✍🏽
Steemit have made us to understand that plagiarism is an illegal act which is not advisable for any user to do.
On this platform our aim is to make original contents (our creativity) not to take a duplicate work from someone else’s creativity and presenting it as our own piece of writing.
Your piece of writing becomes professional when you use any paraphrase or picture of someone’s work with addition of the source from which it came from for people to become aware of where the piece of paraphrase or writing was discovered from.

Citation
Here this talks about a piece of writing or information containing its source based on where it came out from.

Mind you If there is any paraphrase you are posting that’s not from you it should be formatted using this markdown >.

For instance;
Let’s say

“Music is the combination of sounds to give pleasure to the ear, which can also be used as a source of entertainment/cure to depression and it gives out creativity.”

#source

This paraphrase here should contain a source which bears the location (link) of where the information it’s coming out from if the post or phrase is been copied and pasted by any user.

Doing this would prevent you from been accused from plagiarism and it adds value to your post.
If any photo can be also added, it’s so important that we add the image source (your image source contains the link of where you got the image from).

To source your image properly this is what you need to do:
[Image source](paste link) in that way your link will be covered and it will look neater.

For citation you need to add the > sign before the text you are citing. For example
`>there is no darkness but ignorance<
This will result in

There is no darkness but ignorance

I have done what you told me to do
