What is a Rockhound?

Hello my name is Don
....and I.. am .. a Rockhound. For about fifteen years now, I have been fascinated with rocks. Some, including my wife Andrea, say I am obsessed with them or even addicted.

First let me share that a rockhound is an individual that is interested and actively searches for rocks, minerals, crystals, or even fossils.

My first love is fossils. But after I got started, I quickly became interested in all sorts of rocks, fossils, and crystals.

I started with steemit in August 2016 and enjoyed reading other post about people love for rocks. But I soon found that I had to go through thousands of posts to find a few that I am truly interested in. So when steemit created these community posts, I was intrigued and decided to see if I could start a community interested solely on rocks, fossils, crystals etc... or even other natural wonders such as plants. animals or even insects.

So I've posted a few pieces from my personal collection in hopes of stirring up some interest with others to post their collections or even like interests in this community.

Okenite geode. The crystals or very soft but extremely fragile, so I don't allow anyone to touch them.

So if you're interested, hop onboard and lets see if we can't get something going.

It's a great addiction to have :)
You were away from steem for a while, are you aware that steem was forked and the majority of the community has moved over to Hive? Come and join us, find your profile at https://hive.blog/@roswellrockman and login with your steem keys, all is exactly the same as steem and the curation communities have mostly all moved there too. All of the posts that you made on steem have been migrated over to hive too, so don't try and repost your old steem content, it's already there. You can post simultaneously on Hive and Steem if you wish.

Thank you
I saw Hive before and tried to sign up on it but was probably doing something wrong, because it would not go through. So I gave up. I had signed up on steem peak because it had no ads(something I hate) but I was having problems posting on that. I signed up on hive but I noticed my last two posts weren't there. Will they show up now that I've signed in. I also noticed that my account value is significantly higher. Is that because I hadn't signed up and the number was higher then? What is the advantage of Hive over my regular steem blog site? I'm not that savvy on social net, so please forgive me. Should I keep steem peak? I really don't use it that much. Also: not seeing the community posts on there.

Apparently I am already signed up and all my previous blogs are there. Now how do I get my new blogs there without having to rewrite them? as well as get get the community switched over?

If the community existed prior to the hardfork in March on steem, it will exist in Hive but see that you created it more recently than that so you will have to create it on hive. After the hardfork, the chains have been separated so nothing posted on steem will show on hive anymore

Got it. Just reposted my recent blogs and noticed that not all my up-votes from steemit came with it. I assume that some of those up-voters are not on Hive. I don't remember how I set up the community on steemit and I don't see how to set it up on Hive. Any tips?
