• Jesus is the wisdom personified!
- Jesus is calling every thirsty soul to come and drink.
“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”
John 7:37 (NKJV) - As many who heeded the call of Jesus, the call of wisdom, shall be blessed.
• Wisdom calls the naïve, the ones who are easily misled or the undiscerning, to forsake naivete, simplicity, and embrace wisdom (Proverbs 1:22).
- But scorners would not listen, because they delight in scorning (Proverbs 5:13).
- Fools also would not heed the call, because they hate knowledge (Proverbs 1:22).
- “Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
- Give instruction to a wise man, and he will still be wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”
Proverbs 9:8,9 (NKJV)
• Wisdom promises to pour her spirit on whoever responds to the call—her words shall be made known to such (Proverbs 1:23).
- However, those who refused to honour the call, who disdained her counsel and would not respond to her rebuke, would later call on her but she will not answer (Proverbs 1:24,25).
- Wisdom will laugh at the calamity of such, mock when their terror comes (Proverbs 1:26, 27).
- They will call on wisdom, seek her diligently, but they will not find her (Proverbs 1:28).
- For the reason that, they hated knowledge, they did not choose the fear of the Lord—they did not obey the Lord with reverence and awe-filled respect (Proverbs 1:29).
• Whoever listens to wisdom will dwell safely, be secured and without fear of evil (Proverbs 1:33).
• Whatever Wisdom promises to give to those who seek and heed her words is found in Christ Jesus—He is the Wisdom personified (1 Corinthians 1:24).
• Jesus the wisdom and the power of God is calling, have you answered His call?
- “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
- “TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN FROM ME, for I am gentle [meek] and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
- “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
