This photograph is of two species of flowers that have the particularity of being from South Africa but that their cultivation in the American continent has spread and adapted very well in the tropical climate, which makes them always present in the gardening of my country
Azulina or Blue Jasmine
It is a beautiful ornamental plant that stands out for its blue flowers, its scientific name is Plumbago also known as Blue Jasmine. They can grow in shrubs or vines, their flower has a sweet smell and, in addition to being ornamental, it is also used with medicinal fines as an antioxidant and for extraction of essential oils.
Novio
Its scientific name is Pelargonium peltatum, in the region where I grew up it is colloquially known as Novio (Boyfriend), however one of its common names is Geranium, as it belongs to this great family of plants. Its flowers are usually of various colors, perhaps the most common are pink, white and red. Although the flower is not as fragrant, the leaves and stems of the plant do have a particular fragrance that makes them recognizable only when they get a little closer. This photo corresponds to a cultivation of Novio Blanco by my mother.

Estas fotografías son de dos especies de flores que tienen la particularidad de ser provenientes del Sur de África pero que su cultivo en el continente americano se ha extendido y adaptado muy bien en el clima tropical, lo que las hace estar siempre presentes en la jardinería de mi país.
La Azulina o Jazmín azul
Es una hermosa planta ornamental que destaca por sus flores azules, su nombre científico es Plumbago también conocidas como Jazmín azul. Pueden crecer en arbusto o enredaderas, su flor es de dulce olor y además de ornamental también es usado con fines medicinales como antioxidante y para extraccion de aceites esenciales.
Novio
Su nombre científico es Pelargonium peltatum, en la región donde crecí es conocido coloquialmente como Novio, sin embargo uno de sus nombres comunes es Geranio, por ser perteneciente a esta gran familia de plantas. Sus flores suelen ser de varios colores, quizas las mas comunes son las rosadas, blancas y rojas. Aunque la flor no es tan olorosa, las propias hojas y tallos de la planta si tienen una fragancia particular que la hace reconocible sólo al acercarse un poco. Esta foto corresponde a un Novio Blanco cultivado por mi madre.
